Gateway One
Gateway One is your next step toward becoming part of the FBC Kaufman family. This one-time membership class is designed to help you learn who we are, what we believe, and what it truly means to belong at FBC Kaufman.
During Gateway One, you’ll hear our story, discover our mission and values, and learn how you can connect, serve, and grow within our church family. It’s also a great opportunity to ask questions, meet leaders, and explore whether FBC Kaufman is the place God is calling you to plant your roots.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Church isn't something we simply attend—it's something we belong to. The Bible describes the church as the Body of Christ, where every believer has a unique role to play (1 Corinthians 12:12–27). When you become a member of a local church, you're publicly committing yourself to a specific body of believers where you will worship, grow, serve, and be cared for. In many ways, joining a local church is simply living out your membership in Christ's global Church through a local family of faith.
-
Gateway One lasts one hour, from 12:15–1:15 PM, immediately following our 10:45 AM worship service.
-
Yes! We are happy to provide childcare during Gateway One. We simply ask that you RSVP in advance so we can schedule enough workers to care for your children well.
-
Gateway One is typically offered every other Sunday following the 10:45 AM service. Occasionally, we also offer the class on a Wednesday evening. Major holidays and special church events may occasionally adjust the schedule.
-
We believe Gateway One is best experienced together in a group where you can meet church leaders and others who are taking the same step. However, if circumstances make attending impossible, we can arrange a one-on-one Gateway One conversation with one of our pastors.
-
Yes. Church membership is intended for those who have already trusted Jesus Christ as their Savior and have followed Him in believer's baptism by immersion (Acts 2:41; Romans 6:3–4). We also ask that members pursue a life that reflects Christ through ongoing repentance and obedience—not perfection, but a sincere desire to follow Jesus and turn away from known, unrepentant sin (Colossians 1:10; Galatians 5:22–25).
-
We believe Christians are called to be more than spiritual consumers—we are called to be contributors to God's mission. Membership is a commitment to actively participate in the life of the church.
As members of FBC Kaufman, we encourage one another to:Gather faithfully for Sunday worship.
Belong to a LifeGroup where biblical community and discipleship happen.
Serve on a ministry team using the gifts God has given you.
Give generously to support the mission of the church.
Invite others to know and follow Jesus.
Our desire isn't simply to fill a membership roll—it's to help every member become a fully devoted follower of Jesus who loves God, loves people, and makes disciples.
